Well we all know that this year we have  highly unusual weather all over the united states. From Tornadoes in Oklahoma to late snow fall in Vermont followed by flooding in the Midwest.

The flooding is very close to my heart as well as my home. So many small towns around and outside of St. Louis, Missouri . One that hurts my heart is Historical Kimmswick which has been around since late 1700’s , but founded by   Theodore Kimm in 1859. A successful St. Louis dry goods merchant, Mr. Kimm moved to Jefferson County in 1850 and purchased a large tact of land, extending West and crossing what is now Highway 61-67.  http://visitkimmswick.com/shopping. This town also has  Ride On St. Louis (ROSL) . It is an Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT) center serving disabled children, adults and the at-risk youth of the greater St. Louis metropolitan area. ROSL uses the unique movement of the horse and emotional bond created between horse and rider to gain physical, mental, emotional and spiritual improvements in the lives of those we serve. It also serves the Wounded Warriors Project as well. http://rideonstl.org/,So you see this is why it is so close to my heart.

This Beautiful little town as seen it devastation from the flood of 1993 and 2005 and here to return to try again in June of 2013. It will not succeed , as the people that live in  this town and also own shops always pull together and fight to save to the bitter end.

I was Visiting there today to see the flooding waters and it just brought tears to my eyes. Watching all those people work so hard sandbagging ,not fancy machines. Pure physical labor.Working to save there wonderful town and homes. The Shop  owners like the Blue Owl Restaurant, known here in Missouri YUMMY! Feeding the hard workers as well as Dominoes and other local area pizza places. Volunteers from around Jefferson county and great help from the Prisoners.

To My dismay I founded that they were lacking in help .Sometimes Jefferson County Missouri is forgotten . They always focus on the bigger cities that have had devastation. Well I think this is one town that need help!! So I will be sending this article and photos to local newspapers, in hope that we can get more . It is suppose to rain again in the next few days and the The Flood Warning continues for the Mississippi River at St. Louis * until further notice.* At 11:30 am Tuesday the stage was 40.2 feet. * Flood stage is 30.0 feet. * Forecast… the river crested around 40.5 feet late this morning and is forecast to fall to near 38.5 feet Thursday morning. So please NO MORE Rain!!. Officials: Entire town of Kimmswick will flood if levee breaks; volunteers needed

The CCU Complex Overview

CCU, a former sand mine, is located in Crystal Springs, Missouri and fronts Plattin Creek, within a mile of it’s intersection with the Mississippi River. It is 6,000,000 million square feet  of enclosed underground climate-controlled space. Approximately 200 acres.  It has 30-40 ft. ceilings.  The facility was originally created as a by-product of a sand mining operation. Consequently, thick pillars were systematically cut out of the rock, forming a asymmetrical grid.

Our Vision is to become a cultural and convention facility with the most unique sports and recreational amenities ever conceived to compliment our proposed green industrial facility.  Space is/will be available to extreme, recreational and Olympic venue sports operators and green industrial users. The CCU Sports & Industrial complex will be designed to accommodate separate access and common areas for each use. The floor plan of the facility will allow for easy build-out for your sports training needs. We are currently accepting business plans for consideration. Contact Us for more information, or take a look at our Rental Rates.

Kentucky Exposition Center

Our project is being patterned after the Kentucky Exposition Center.  The facility supports over 7,000 jobs and boasts over 1,000,000 square feet.  It is very successful bringing millions of dollars of tax revenue into the community and hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue from out of state visitors, that attend hundreds of events annually.  It is one of the ten largest in the world.  Our project at minimum will be double the size when completed.  Please visit the Kentucky Exposition Center ‘s website and browse their events and financial statements to understand what Crystal City Underground can be with community support.  Their website iswww.kyfairexpo.org.

Cooperation For Economic Development
Our hope is to expand our master plan in conjunction with Crystal City, The City of Festus, and Jefferson County for the benefit of all. We intend to focus our efforts to attract entrepreneurs that will develop:

  • Hotels and a marina on the Mississippi River.
  • RV, cabin, and campground facilities.
  • An equestrian center with hundreds of acres of trails in an unspoiled natural atmosphere.
  • New residential developments.
  • Who is behind CCU?
  • Crystal City Underground Sports Complex is the concept of Tom Kerr, President and Owner of Fiesta Corporation. More…
